Welcome to Penn Street Review!

We're a nascent literary magazine and writers’ community focused on providing a platform for up-and-coming voices in the literary world. 

The idea for this magazine and community was born while I was living on the eponymous Penn Street and hoping to connect with other creative people and build community around writing. At a time when I felt disconnected from people geographically, I wanted especially to connect people through the arts, and that incited my vision of a literary space for publishing and discussion.  

Penn Street is a space for publishing a variety of content—from fiction to photography to film reviews—by talented artists and writers hoping to spread their voice and readership and connect through their work. Sharing and reading writing-in-process has been one of the ways I’ve stayed close with those far from me, and I hope this platform will similarly connect others. For the time being Penn Street Review is a virtual space, but I hope in the future to organize locally centered in-person community writing events and workshops.
